Riley’s Rips FAQ

Why is it called Riley’s Rips?

As told by the event organizer, Tyrone Siglos…

“Riley’s Rips is a celebration of my dog and a fun way to give others a reason to ride.

Riley–my 90lb American Bulldog–was my reason to ride. When I first adopted her, she would terrorize the house if she didn’t get enough exercise. She didn’t like to play fetch and the dog park was too far away so I had to run 10km with her. Every. Day. I got into good shape but it was way too long and I was burning out. So I bought a bike off craigslist and taught her to run next to the bike. It’s how I got started cycling and it has shaped my life since.”

How must does Riley’s Rips cost and what’s included in my fee?

Registration for each event is $10 if purchased in advance. Participants may register on the day for $15 cash. Included in your fee:

New in 2024! Sign up to 10 people–friends, family, or coworkers–to form a Riley’s Rips Pack.

Teams will receive the same manifest as individuals, but will have an extra challenge after the dust has settled to claim the title of Top Dogs.

To sign up as a team, you may do so in advance via the Registration Form ($10 per person) or on the day of the event ($15 per person).

How long are the rides?

Rides are self-navigated, so length will vary based on the route and number of checkpoints a rider chooses to check off on their manifest.

A beginner’s route will be provided for those who’d prefer something more guided and will total around 20kms.

Alternatively, plan your own route to hit all checkpoints. These rides will average 40kms.
